The Benefits of Live-In Care
Live-in care offers the calm and continuity of having the same caregiver in the home throughout each 24-hour period. Care is provided at a predictable flat daily rate, making it a more cost-effective alternative to staffing separate hourly shifts around the clock.
Is Live-In Care Right for Your Family?
Live-in care may be a good fit when:
• A private bedroom can be provided for the caregiver
• The person recieving care can generally manage overnight, allowing the caregiver eight consecutive hours of rest
• The person can safely remain alone during the caregiver’s three-hour daytime break
• Consistent companionship and support are needed, but continuous 24-hour professional supervision is not. If needs change or regular overnight assistance is required, we can help determine whether rotating 24-hour care would be more appropriate.
Support Shaped Around Daily Life
Every live-in care plan is personalized around the individual’s needs, routines and preferences. Depending on the care plan, support may include:
SAFETY & REASSURANCE
Having a consistent caregiver present can help reduce fall risks and provide added support when memory changes create concerns such as wandering, appliances being left on or medication mistakes.
PERSONAL CARE & MOBILITY
Respectful assistance with personal care, dressing, grooming, mobility and everyday routines.
MEALS & HOME ROUTINES
Meal preparation, hydration support, light housekeeping and laundry to help the home remain comfortable and organized.
COMPANIONSHIP & DAILY LIVING
Conversation, meaningful activities, walks, appointments, errands and medication reminders.
